Terms and Conditions of Hire

 The following Conditions of Hire apply to all hire by Bennelong Event Hire (ABN: 59090095579) to each customer unless otherwise notified in writing. Bennelong Event Hire will be referred to in these terms as BEH. No variation on cancellation of any of the following conditions will be binding unless agreed to by an authority of BEH in writing.

Quotation - Unless otherwise stated by an authority of BEH all quotations will be valid for a period of thirty days from date of issue. A revised quotation will need to be requested if outside of this time.  All quotations will need to be accepted in writing either by a signed quotation, an email stating to proceed quoting the reference number provided on the quotation or a purchase order.

If a hire proceeds without written consent it shall be deemed that the customer accepts these terms and conditions of hire as stated.

All equipment hired is the property of BEH and remain so throughout the period of hire.  All hire items are used at the hirers own risk.  The customer will be responsible for the equipment during the whole of the hire period and shall maintain the equipment in good order and condition, reasonable wear and tear accepted. This applies to all hire equipment including packaging.

Any additional items required after the initial delivery will be subject to additional charges including but not limited to freight and labour and will be invoiced separately.

All hires not returned to BEH by the end of the stated contract period will be charged to the customer at a weekly rate until such time as the equipment is returned.

All hire items are subject to availability at time of order.  Every endeavor will be made to deliver all hire items within the period stated no liability for consequential damages of any kind arising out of late or non-delivery. The hirer is responsible for security of the equipment until the equipment is returned to the hirer.

All equipment shall be at the address delivered to for pick up at the end of stated contract unless an alternative location is agreed to by BEH.  Where the hirer has accepted the goods from the address of BEH all items must be returned to the same location at the end of the contract.  If the hire items are not at the address for collection an additional pick up fee may be charged.

Goods will need to be checked by a representative of the customer on delivery and agreed to by way of a signed delivery document. If a representative of the customer is not available at the agreed time of delivery the customer will agree that all items quoted have been delivered.

The customer shall ensure that suitable access to and egress from the site is adequate to suit the arranged type of delivery and pick up.

The customer shall be responsible for required approval to use the space intend for the delivery and or set up of hire equipment and will bear all costs associated with the relevant approvals. The customer will also be responsible for the clearing of the area to set up goods and will check that the ground is stable and that there are no underground services that could be damaged. If damage occurs to any underground service, the customer will be liable for all costs incurred. If BEH suffers and costs, loss or damages as a result of the customer not carrying out their obligations as per the contract the customer shall solely responsible and shall indemnify BEH for any such loss, cost or damage.

The customer is responsible for the security of all equipment until it is returned or collected by BEH.  The customer is required to provide details in writing including a police report for any lost or stolen items otherwise extended hire charges will be applicable.  The replacement cost of any stolen or lost items will be charged to the client at current market replacement rate.

Any loss or damaged equipment will be charged to the customer at the current market replacement rate and is to be paid in the standard BEH payment terms.  Damaged items that are repairable will be charged at a repair rate only.

No candles directly on furniture, always use a candle holder. Wax marks and drippings on any product constitutes damage. Charges to restore items will apply.

Unless designated for outdoor use, furniture is not to be left outside.

Adhering anything to BEH products is not permitted.  No glue, tape, staples, stickers or vinyl.

Crockery, cutlery and glasses to be returned free from food.

Additional important conditions for the return of tablecloths and napkins:

No wax, no burns, all food and flower particles removed, air dry or isolate wet items

Failure to comply may attract additional charges.

The hirer shall have a representative present to accept the delivery and to confirm the order has been delivered in good condition. Failing to be present will constitute acceptance of delivery in good order by the Hirer.

Please review all information on your document is correct. Any changes after the equipment is delivered that is not the fault of the hirer will incur extra delivery charges.

Cancellation Policy

7 - 14 days prior to the delivery - 20% of order total payable

7 - 3 days prior to the delivery - 50% of order total payable

3 - 2 days prior to the delivery - 80% of order total payable

100% fee payable if cancelled after 9am day prior to delivery or if equipment is loaded onto truck.

Covid-19 Cancellation/postponement policy

For Government regulatory changes that do NOT allow the event to proceed, the date can be moved to an alternative, mutually agreed date within 12 month period without penalty.

A 15% restocking fee is due and payable if postponed or cancelled within 7 days of the delivery date,
